Lovely Views

One of the unexpected pleasures of our trip was staying at the Town Hill Hotel B&B. It is an historic hotel nestled on a ridge in western Maryland that overlooks three states and seven counties. Our host, Dave, pointed out to us where we came from and a notch cut out of a mountain that was the Mason-Dixon Line (cut out because a gas line runs through it.) After our long day on the road, Ted and I settled in with a beer and some snacks to take in the sights outside near the B&B.

It was stunning as the sun danced in and out of the clouds throwing colors and shadows on the surrounding mountains. We could see the areas we had cycled and where we would be going. The edge of the Appalachian range is quite lovely and we considered ourselves fortunate to be able to see it on a clear and crisp afternoon.
