The last virtual class on seasonal decorations that I did for my clients at @annsplaceinc I ran short of materials . . . . .for me.

I had given nearly all my material on hand for this class to my clients and had forgotten to save some. I was able to scrounge up a pine cone or two for the project as well as some buckeye nuts that had fallen to the floor in the greenhouse. But I could not find any tiny wood rounds to mount my buckeyes or cones onto. But in a corner on my workbench I discovered a few wood rounds that I had used last year to make sundials.

I made due and was able to instruct my clients how to put together the different objects we created. The biggest surprise for many were the pre-drilled buckeyes that had a hole for a toothpick that helped support their stacking. A backbone of sorts.

Ironically, many of them really liked what I was able to construct on my larger platform. Juana even used it to decorate one of our Christmas platters.

  1. I love your website. I found your wonderful book at a bookstore in Ridgefield Connecticut.
Before caring for my own mother, I worked in the field of Horticultural Therapy. The population I love and did programs for were the seniors. They taught me so much and have so much to give. Having a background in teaching and taking an abundance of classes in the horticultural therapy program at the NYBG really helped me as I developed my programs. I am unofficially retired but am looking for the “next thing” for my journey.
Thank you for writing your book.
