September is a bittersweet month a summer ends and fall begins. It’s is the time when the largest bounties of the gardens’ flowers, vegetables, and fruits are harvested. Some leaves begin to turn to orange, yellow, and red, while migrating birds and monarch butterflies make their way south. [This year, however, is quite different than typical as leaves have turned and fallen in August due to lack of rain.]
It is time to bring the outdoor furniture into the shed, garage, or basement. The full harvest moon reminds us that days are shortening and the evening chill in the air will only become more pronounced as the month progresses.
