We had the opportunity the other day to walk the streets of Millersburg. It is an old town with a base of historical and architecturally interesting buildings. We stayed at the Hotel Millersburg, which was built in 1847 and is the third oldest continuously operating hotel in Ohio. It is a favorite of those who are cycling through town.
As Ted and I headed for beers at a local microbrewery, we came across the Court House, brightly lit by the high sun. A commemorative statue stands next to the 1886 building honoring those who have died in the defense of the United States. Standing above the entrance is Lady Justice, holding a bronze colored scale.
We cross the street and have a beer each and then a nice meal. Walking back to our hotel we see the hotel lit with the setting sun. Buildings next to it have their construction dates prominently near the roof. They are well cared for as is much of the downtown area.
We walk a bit more, but with the evening heat of 87 degrees, we call it a night.
