Come fly with me

PEI is a big island with many small, and interesting aspects. One that Ted found fascinating was the fact that our B&B in Cable Head was adjacent to an airport. This airstrip has land parcels that are divided with conifers as wind screens so if you own a plane, you can fly it into the strip and park it in front of your house.

Or you could stay at the B&B that we stayed at where both of our hosts were licensed pilots. Bring your plane instead of your bike. There are two 3,800-foot long landing strips that are perpendicular to each other though we spotted only a single one from the road.

The strip was well mowed, somewhat differentiating it from the land on either side. There were lights indicating the edges of the strip offering pilots guidance in all types of weather. Its undulating surface and greenery is quite different that the NY airports that Ted and I often fly out of.
