I can’t say that I am going to miss the kitting up for my zoom classes. This one, where we are making seed bombs and plant signs is full with 20 clients and has a lot of parts.
Seed bombs are part of gorilla gardening where you put wildflower seeds into compost/soil and air dry clay. Tossing them in an area, after the rain washes away the clay they start to germinate in the material they are packed in. To make the seed bombs I mix and weigh the wildflower seeds I have purchased. It doesn’t look like many seeds in the scale, but they number over 200,000 so each client should get nearly 10,000 seeds in a little packet.
It turns out that many seeds is about 1 1/2 heaping teaspoons. I weigh the air-dry clay giving each client 6-7 ounces. This is a fun craft as it is very tactile and begins to get hands dirty (or clayey) planting seeds.
The other craft is making plant signs using mason jar lids, plant markers and pre-printed, waterproof stickers. Both of these projects is a great way to get ready for Spring planting. But to be honest I can’t wait to see my clients in person again.
