Greenhouse gardening

May is when my greenhouse is bursting as all my inside seedlings need to start the hardening off process as well as be transplanted. In addition, I stopped at @gilbertiesorganics for my yearly pickup of herbs for @annsplaceinc. So between the two, I need to keep the space extra tidy to make room.

Gilberties, like lots of companies, has had supply chain problems and did not have the selection that it typically does. For instance, it usually has a dozen different scented geraniums; this year I could find only five. Same for mints. But the diversity is still great and I filled the back of my pick up with trays of herbs to be planted this weekend on site and to use in my classes over the next month.

Entering my greenhouse, I am knocked over by the mingling scents of lavender, rosemary, anise hyssop, mint, basil and thyme. It is a heady perfumed mix that envelops me.

It’s a great place to work for the next few days though a tad crowded with 19 trays of plants to manage.
