We took down all of the sunflowers as many were nearly denuded of seeds leaving empty, broken brown stalks. Juana and I are able to save a few for next year’s plantings and some she fashions with other dried vegetation into a wreath.
She starts by taking invasive porcelain berry vines and wrapping them into a circle. She ties the ends with jute twine. A few leaves as well as pink and blue berries are suspended from the vine. She then adorns it with sunflower heads, hydrangea flowers and felt/silk cutouts of seasonal shapes.
In a jiffy it is done and I think it looks great. What do you think?

The wreath is gorgeous, in color and craftsmanship. Well done, Juana.
