I am delighted to be speaking next Saturday at the @norwalklibct about my book, A Therapist’s Garden. The 11 am talk, on July 29, will give an overview of how I came to my current passion of horticultural therapy, where I have practiced locally and some of the stories that are contained in the book.
The Zen of mixing mud with seniors; crafting surprising salads out of weeds; and a hidden rabbit bringing joy to girls in a juvenile detention center are just a few of the stories contained in the book. Through the lens of January to December, in a New England landscape, discover how horticulture therapy improves the lives of those in pain ranging from troubled youths to struggling seniors.
To kick off the talk, I will lead an aromatherapy demonstration to illustrate the power and joy of working with nature. And there will be a surprise take-home gift for all attendees.
At the end of the talk, copies of my book will be available for purchase.
There are still plenty of spaces left and you can register for free either by calling Maria at 203-889-2780 ext 15144 or emailing clahey@norwalkpl.org to register.
I hope to see some of you there.
